Dear Members,
It is a tradition in many organizations to review the first 100 days of a new Board’s term. In that spirit, I would like to share with you what we have been working on since we took in charge of the Club.
The past 100 days have been marked by an intensive transition period between the previous and current Board — an effort that is often invisible to Members but essential to ensure the Club’s organization and continuity.
One of the main ongoing initiatives is the development of a Club data management application, which will improve administrative efficiency and, at the same time, provide Members with direct access to their personal data. The development phase has been completed and the data is now being uploaded. The application will be made available to Members by the end of the year.
As promised in our Election Manifesto, we launched a Member survey whose results helped us better understand your preferences. These insights are guiding both our current and future activities.
We have also developed an activity plan until the end of the year, allowing Members to reserve dates in advance and encouraging greater participation in Club events. So far, we have successfully held events in Monsaraz, at TAP facilities, and more recently in Mafra — all of which received a high level of satisfaction from participants, according to the surveys we collected.
In collaboration with Instituto Superior Técnico, we are developing an introductory course on MG car mechanics and maintenance. This course aims to deepen Members’ knowledge of their vehicles while also promoting the MG brand among mechanical engineering students. We expect to launch the course this coming winter.
We also recently partnered with Santogal to organize a campaign dedicated to the MG Cyberster, aiming to promote the Club among owners of this new MG sports model.
Finally, we launched a new version of the Club’s website homepage, with a more modern, dynamic, and functional design that will allow us to introduce new features for Members over the coming year. We hope you enjoy it.
Much has already been accomplished, but there is still a lot to do. We have a lot of ideas. However, our ability to execute them is naturally limited by the size of the Board and its professional and personal availability. In that regard, if you would like to contribute to the Club in areas such as Marketing, Photography / Video, Design, Mechanics, Writing and Journalism, Event and Sports Competition Organization, among others, we would greatly appreciate your support and contact.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all Members who have supported this new chapter with enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit. The Board remains open to suggestions and ideas, and we hope to count on your continued engagement, whether through participation in events or specific initiatives. In September, we’ll be back with more news, including events in new regions and initiatives aimed at younger audiences and new MG owners.
We wish all our Members and their families a wonderful summer holiday.
Octagonal Regards,
Tiago Lousada
President of the Board
