Message from the Board - december 2022

Dear Member and Enthusiast MG

After the summer vacations, the activities returned in a big way and with a varied offer.

The MGCP held the 175th and 176th Concentrações, respectively, in Carvoeira and in the city of Santarém where it celebrated its 41st Anniversary. In both, conditions were found for the placement of pins and the use of stopwatches to see which Members, in the Veterans, Classic and Production Classes, would be able to return home with a trophy.

Between the two Concentrations, the AGM President traveled to Switzerland to congratulate the Swiss-MGV8 / IG Club for its 10 years of existence, in the person of Victor Rodrigues, our Member No. 12.

To end the year, the Christmas Dinner was also the venue for the Members Homage Party to the most senior and eligible Members, from 10 to 40 years old.

In the meantime, the MGCP, through the presence of several Members, was represented in many meetings of Classics organized by other entities and Clubs, such as the 1st Meeting of Ingleses do Centro, in Coimbra, the Distinguished Gentleman's Drive that once again connected Lisbon to Cascais, the Estoril Classics 2022 and parading at the 7th Parade on the Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisboa.

Regarding the brand, we have been following the appearing of the MG dealers planned for the mainland and by geographical proximity and his initiative, we met Pedro Gonçalves, the MGcar’s General Manager, who set up his first store in the World Trade Center Lisboa. He also invited the Club to be present at the 7th Portugal-China Gala, where he received the Business Merit Award in the area of Foreign Trade (Portugal-China) because MG Motor distinguished itself in strengthening economic and trade relations, between the period 2020-2022.

Just as Pedro Gonçalves considers that 2023 “will be a very important year, thinking about the past in order to project the future”, also the Board of the M.G. Clube de Portugal will have to value and honor its past by resuming the organization of the MG EEoTY 2024.

Octogonal Greetings,

Isabel Tinoco
